This month kicks off a juicy collaboration with "The Hundreds" and famed graffiti crew "The Seventh Letter". Street artists Saber, Rime, Ewok, Revok and Eklips partner up and bring a urban and creative flair to each garment composed while celebrating the 2 decade span of The Seventh Letter.

To commemorate the release of this collaboration. The Hundreds and Seventh Letter are jointly opening a pop-up shop in Los Angeles, just for this Saturday and Sunday only.  Doors open at noon on Saturday at 7907 Rosewood Avenue, directly next door to The Hundreds Los Angeles Shop. Inside you’ll find the entire line of "The Hundreds by The Seventh Letter" in a range of t-shirts, headwear, jackets, and other specialty pieces by the hands of these acclaimed and notorious street artists who transformed this empty store into a fine, old time boutique with plenty to look at. OBEY Clothing Summer Sample Sale 2012

It's that time of the year again! Where the boys and girls of OBEY Clothing aka "The Warehouse Posse" stocks them deep and sells them CHEAP! Twice a year, and this upcoming weekend OBEY Clothing graciously opens it's warehouse to the public and those worthy enough to pay the unofficial dues of waiting in line. What lies inside are a shoppers dream! Wall to wall inventory, marked down in both men's & women's stacked as far and high as the eye can see. Shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, shorts, button-ups, hats, bags & accessories are screaming to be plucked and put into the white trash bag given out by the posse waiting to be filled to the brim. If you are in the Orange County area this weekend, it is defiantly worth the trip and wait.

 Bags

 Oh Baby!

For the past many years these sales have been going, there have been only a few simple rules to follow. No bags, no OBEY to be worn, no camping (in the past it was crazy), no street parking and no bad attitudes. In addition to cash, Visa.& Master Card only, it's all gravy. Obey and the Posse provide plenty of parking in the adjacent lots and the posted signs will help you find your way.

This weekend only!
Saturday June 15th 8am - 5pm
Sunday June 16th 8am -2pm

"MCA" Adam Yauch tribute billboards x Shepard Fairey x Haze x Glen E. Friedman x Kaves

Since the untimely passing of Adam Yauch aka "MCA" of the Beastie Boys on May 4th, 2012, there has been a flurry of homages, tributes, thoughts, memorials and expressions celebrating and honoring the lifelong legacy of this Brooklyn born rapper, turned philanthropist & director who left us too soon at a short age of only 47 years old.

Long time Beastie Boys fan and L.A. native Jason May wanted to do something to express his condolences. The end result was the renting of 4 Los Angeles billboards and the recruitment of some top street artists to pay his final respects.

First up to bat was Shepard Fairey of OBEY and an early iconic picture of the Beastie Boys by Glen E. Friedman from a California photo shoot in 1985. The same image was used for both billboards. One being at Sunset Blvd & Las Palmas and 2nd located on Fairfax south of Santa Monica Blvd.

Second up was artist Kaves, as he brings his own unique spin on the same Glen E. Friedman photograph accompanied by a powerful lyric from the song "Sure Shot" off the Beastie Boys third album "Ill Communication". This billboard is located on Sunset Blvd. & San Vicente.

Lastly but not least, is famed street artist Eric "Haze". Haze has been a longtime friend and collaborator of the Beastie Boys since the "License to Ill" era. Creating the original diamond logo that appears on that record and the cover art for "Ill Communication". Haze also did a very limited run of skateboards for the Beastie Boys in the mid-eighties. This skateboard can be seen with MCA in early photographs. Some of the shots were taken by Glen E. Friedman himself. Haze's billboard comes in a third in a trilogy, showcasing Haze's classic font used on "Ill Communication" and is at the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd. & Vine that just went up this past weekend.

In addition to these billboards, there have been countless tags, pieces, murals and other works of art paying their final respects to Adam Yauch "MCA".

Street Art: On & Off Melrose -Hollywood, Ca.

New to the scene? Looking to get known while getting up? Well, Melrose Ave. of the  Melrose District in the heart of Hollywood is your best bet. Anybody who is anybody, new and old, has put some time and work in this piece of street that borders the Fairfax District and all the way down to La Brea. Graffiti, slap-tags and street art line every crevasse, corner, corridor, roof-top and alley way down the Avenue that easily form a symbiotic relationship with the surrounding boutiques, restaurants, salons, dispensaries and specialty shops.

Here are some samplings of what that day had to offer:
