"Kind Regrets" New works by Parra
Dutch artist, illustrator and graphic designer Parra is best known for his curved post-Pop imagery, highly saturated colours, vibrant hand-drawn letters and worlds inhabited by hybrid, surreal characters which include themes and motifs which
have become unmistakable and distinctive trademarks of his style. Curved
2 dimensional modern post – pop images, highly saturated colors,
vibrant typographic hand-drawn letters and worlds inhabited by hybrid,
bizarre, surreal characters. Men with bird heads, fleshy and voluptuous
women with round sensual bodies, mixed with texts and themes that span
from sarcastic and introspective to ironic and bold, all the way to the
nonsensical. HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles is currently ground zero for "Kind Regrets". A new body of works and exhibit by Parra. On now from Sept. 29th to Nov.11th, 2012
Parra has quickly become a respected and eclectic artist worldwide. Working across drawing, painting, animation and sculpture, Parra creates an enigmatic and instantly recognizable style that defies easy categorization. Parra is also the co-founder of cult apparel label Rockwell Clothing and a member of electronic music group "Le Le". Parra lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
